Avyukth POV
Helping someone in need is risky for people these days. Why so?
If perhaps that girl hadn't gone to the hospital at the right time, there would have been an atmosphere of mourning in her family.
When I came to the hospital, a strange thing happened. During the journey from the hospital to the garage, I was praying that her life would be saved.
What will happen to her parents if they see their daughter in this condition?
I get back to my workplace and engage myself in repairing cars.
1 week later
My days were going as usual. After trying so many times I still have not been able to get a job in a company where I went yesterday.
Today when I was cleaning the spare parts, my co-worker Raman told me that Gagan ji summoned me to his cabin.
Reaching his cabin I knocked on the door and heard his voice.
I noticed a girl sitting on a visitor's chair. Her back facing towards me.
"Aapne bulaya, Gagan ji." I asked.
He nodded in agreement and introduced the girl sitting over there.
"Meet Kanvi Ahuja." I furrowed my eyebrows. I think I heard this name before.
She turned to look at me and I recognized her immediately. She's the same girl who had an accident a week back.
"Haye…I….I mean Hi!!!!." She stuttered a little. Her eyes gleamed with shine.
"Hello" I replied back but looked at her amusingly. "How are you?" I asked her out of concern.
But the moment she opened her mouth to reply her phone blared up. She gave an apologetic look and excused herself and went out of the cabin.
I look towards Gagan ji. "What is she doing here?" He smiled at my question and gestured to me to sit down.
"She's here to thank the person who saved her life." His statement makes me confused.
To say I'm shocked was an understatement. I was astonished by her gesture. Otherwise in this world people won't even look back at you once they're done.
She came back and said "I'm sorry, it was an urgent call. But thank you so much Avyukth for saving me and giving me this new life."
"How can I let a person die in front of me? And please don't say thank you, it's my responsibility as a human being to help others in need. Isn't it?" I replied to her.
Gagan Ji asked me to escort her to her car. I meekly nodded and gestured to her to walk ahead.

I hope I didn't disturb you?" She asked him nervously.
He was somewhat surprised to see her at his workplace but he replied
"No, it's not like that. But ….."
"I came here to say thank you for saving my life to the person who doesn't know me but still came forward to lend a helping hand to a stranger in need" She completed her sentence.
They reached near her car and she turned to see me. "Can I ask you something?" She asked hesitantly.
"Yeah sure" he encourage her to continue. "Will you come for lunch with me? Please don't take it wrong, it's just a gesture of returning the favor."
To be honest he's a bit doubtful by her sweet gestures because rich people never initiate things unless they have hidden motives.
But looking at her it doest seems like that. "Umm…I..I'm sorry Ma'am, but I'm a worker here and I can't take leaves. And as far as the favour return is concerned I don't think it's needed. But thank you so much for acknowledging."
He hoped that he didn't sound rude. As he had no intention to hurt someone by his curt words. It's just that he don't fancy such things.
She moved her head in understanding and gave him a smile and sat back in her car. Soon she's out of his eyesight.
He head back to his work again.

Kanvi's POV
I didn't feel bad when he turned down my proposal. I mean I can understand his sentiment what struggles he has to go through in daily life. As I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth.
Yes, my parents do have the wealth and assets of my grandparents with them but they didn't spend tons of money on me. It all belongs to their lovely son Agastya.
ring ring again my phone buzzed. This idiot won't spare me until I answer his call.
"Hello, Shit" I said with gritted teeth as I picked up the call from my dear friend.
"Kavi, please no jokes at this time. I'm really upset with you. How could you be so careless about your health?" He reprimanded me for my negligence.
"I'm healing sooner than expected buddy, chill." I tried to coax him.
"Kavi, when are you coming back to the hospital? Your patients are waiting. Hurry up." He stunned me with his absurdity.
I put my phone away from my ear and mumbled "My patients? What is he talking about? Is he high on something?" I am still pondering over what he said.
"Idiot!! You're not a doctor so stop feeding me lies and take proper rest or else I will call Old man and inform him about your childish behaviour." He threatened me.
I paled hearing the mention of an old man. God, he's so mean. How can he threaten his best friend?
"Ok OK. You don't have to threaten me, you shit show" I express my disappointment.
"Now be a good girl and reach home and take a rest." He ordered and cut the call.
I huffed in annoyance but felt loved and cared for which I didn't feel around the people in my house except for Aasha aunty and the Old man he mentioned earlier.
Suddenly the car came to an abrupt halt and I looked up to the driver. "Ma'am we've reached home." I nodded.
I came out and my eyes went to the car which was parked on the foyer.
He's here? How? I mean who informed him? Or maybe he just came for a casual meet up.
I stopped the quiz game running in my head and with slow steps I approached the door.
My soul almost left my body seeing the view. Man in his mid 70's sitting on his throne chair.
Mr. and Mrs. Aggarwal standing there lowering their heads and their mighty son was cleaning the shoes of the Almighty.
Old man looked up and his hawk eyes staring directly into my soul. I shivered under his quizzical gaze.
"Ruby, my laado." A smile appears on my face and the fear left behind.
He held his walking stick and stood up.
I ran to hug him "Dadu…sss" and hissed the next moment and his gaze halted on my hand which had a plaster.
I shut my eyes tightly knowing his next words. "How?" Anger is clearly visible on his face as I look through my wet lashes. My eyes watered.
"Break failure" I told him timidly. Sensing the heavy atmosphere and heated gaze of 3 people I changed the topic.
"When did you come, Old man?and why didn't you inform me beforehand? " I pouted to show my disappointment.
"So that you could make excuses and refrain me from coming here?" He countered back.
Alas this man is way smarter than chacha chaudhary. After all he's my grandfather scratch that my mentor my backbone.
"Come Dadu sit here on your throne and let's talk" I held his right hand with my left hand and made him sit on his throne.
"Ruby, you should've taken rest for the time being until you're fully healed." He cooed at me like I'm still that 5 yr Old girl who always nagged about not taking medicine.
"I'm recovering well Dadu and after seeing you I'm feeling even more better. Trust me." I assured him.
"I do, laado. I do." He said looking at the person's who couldn't stop glaring at me and patted my cheeks lovingly.
As soon as they noticed Dadu's eyes on them they again lowered their eyes.
"You go and take a rest upstairs. I've to talk to them about something." He ushered me and I took my que to leave from here because denial is not an option here. Not in front of Agham Aggarwal.
I stood up and moved to the stairs not before looking at the three who were shivering like a dry leaf.
I feel a little bad for them because they're on the receiving end of the lion king's wrath.
